Tran Thanh Tam was born and grew up in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She studied in Le Hong Phong Highschool for the gifted and then continued to study at the Ho Chi Minh University of Technology. She received a Bachelors Degree from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology in 2007 after which she moved to the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] as a Masters student in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She currently works in the Metabolic and Biomolecular Engineering Laboratory of Professor Sang Yup Lee. Her current research is focused on improving the productivity of PHAs (a kind of biopolymers) in several different strains. tam_click@yahoo.com
