Ai Melani

Ai Melani received a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of Indonesia with a full scholarship from the SALIM Group. In 2000, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science at the University of Indonesia presented her its 'best student' award for her contribution to the academy and society. After graduating she worked for several multinational companies before starting work with the Indonesia Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) mainly in the area of the safety evaluation of nuclear reactors, non0reactor installations and nuclear materials. In February 2008, she was chosen by the Indonesian government to undertake Masters studies in Nuclear and Quantum Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] under the direction of Professor Soon Heung Chang in the Nuclear, Energy System Design and Safety Laboratory. Her primary research interests are nuclear regulations, nuclear reactor safety and thermal-hydraulics. ai_melani@kaist.ac.kr
