Lee Jaehak

*
Lee Jaehak is a graduate student in the Department of Physics at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST]. He received a Bachelor's Degree in physics at KAIST in 2006 with a thesis about the characteristics of glow plasma in a vacuum chamber. He is currently working in the Quantum Information Research Group supervised by Professor Hai-Woong Lee. He has had a paper about quantum entanglement generation using adiabatic interaction between single photon and trapped atom in an optical cavity in PRA [Physics Review A]. His current research interest is quantum random walk: the implementation of quantum random walk with linear optics and quantum search algorithm using quantum random walk on graphs. reri@kaist.ac.kr

Shin Ho Sun

Shin Hosun received a Master’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea, in 2007. He has been working on the size effects on metallic nanowires. His current research interests are size-dependent growth stress and surface relaxation effect in nanowire. He is also working on the phase transformation of nanostructure and nano-interconnection with conductive nanowire such as Cu and Sn . hosun_shin@kaist.ac.kr

Lee Haerim

Lee Haerim received a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology from Pusan National University, Busan, Korea in 2005 and an M.Sc. in Life Science from GIST [Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology], Gwangju, Korea in 2007. Her research interest was in vivo cancer imaging and drug delivery by using the bio-conjugation method. She is currently a Ph. D. candidate in the Department of Biological Sciences at KAIST [the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology] and works in the Molecular Genomics Laboratory. Her current research interest is in studying cell growth regulation and intracellular signaling systems. Kim Ju Whan

Kim Ju Whan was born in Young-Dong, Chung-Book Province, South Korea in 1984. He graduated from Chung-Book Science High School, Chung-Ju in 2002 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Department of Industrial Design at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, in 2006. His graduation work was a media embedded furniture to service emotional connection for families living apart. He is currently an M.Sc. candidate in the same institute the under supervision of Professor Nam Tek Jin in the Collaboration and Interaction Design Research Laboratory. Kim Inkoo

Kim Inkoo studied for his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at University College London between 2004 and 2007. As an undergraduate at UCL, he received the Ingold Prize and finished with a first-class degree in the Dean’s List. He joined the Department of Chemistry at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] in 2007 where he is currently undertaking a Masters of Science Degree under supervision of Professor Lee Yoon Sup. The principal focus of his research is the computational and theoretical study of the electronic and geometric structures of the molecules of heavy elements, in which the relativistic effects are considerable. inkoo.kim@kaist.ac.kr

Yang Hanseul

Yang Hanseul received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] in the Department of Biological Sciences in 2008. He was born in JeonJu in 1987. Now he is currently a Masters student in the Department of Biological Sciences and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST]. He is a member of the Endothelial Cell Research Group (ECRG) here he is primarily involved at looking at cancer and stem cell biology. He has worked on a modek of lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis in Orthotopic Urinary Bladder Cancer (OUBC) and participated in the first Pacific Symposium on Angiogenesis and Lymphangiogenesis where he presented the result of his research in a poster session. His current research interest is on the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) and the differentiation of embryonic stem cells into hematopoietic cells and endothelial cells.

Li Hui

Li Hui received her Bachelor’s Degree from Shangdong University, Jinan, China. She is currently a Master's student at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] in Daejeon, Korea where she is working at the Display Materials Laboratory, in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Jeong Bongjoo

Jeong Bongjoo was born in Chungju in 1982 and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea. He received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Pusan National University, in Busan, Korea and during the studied optimizing the operation sequence of transfer tasks for a rail crane in a container port. He was involved in several other projects related to container ports because Busan is the biggest port city in Korea. In order to study scheduling problems in the other fields, he came to his current position in 2008. Jang Hong Je

Jang Hong was born in 1986 in Daejon, Korea. A graduate of Daejeon Science High School he graduated from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea, with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. He is now doing as Master Degree in Chemistry at the same institution. His primary interests are currently in nanotechnology and its application to biology. His research is focusing on various kinds of nanoparticles and drug delivery system to treat diseases. He plans to do a postdoctoral course in Germany and after that become professor in the Chemistry Department.

Ai Melani

Ai Melani received a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of Indonesia with a full scholarship from the SALIM Group. In 2000, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science at the University of Indonesia presented her its 'best student' award for her contribution to the academy and society. After graduating she worked for several multinational companies before starting work with the Indonesia Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) mainly in the area of the safety evaluation of nuclear reactors, non0reactor installations and nuclear materials. In February 2008, she was chosen by the Indonesian government to undertake Masters studies in Nuclear and Quantum Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] under the direction of Professor Soon Heung Chang in the Nuclear, Energy System Design and Safety Laboratory. Jia Xu

Jia Xia received a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design from Tsinghua University, China in 2008. He is now pursuing his Master of Science in the Industrial Design Department at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea. A researcher in the Human-Centered Interaction Design Lab in the same Department, he won the 1st prize in Lenovo 'Future Office PC Competition' in 2007 and got in the final 8 of Simons Navigation UI Competition. He has also participated in many national and international design and research activities. Seok HyeSung

Seok HyeSung was born in Seoul in 1985 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Science in Industrial Engineering from the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] in 2007. She currently studies in the MS.D joint program in the Industrial Engineering Department at KAIST and receives full scholarship from the government. Her primary research interest is in manufacturing production. She is a researcher in the Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) Laboratory at KAIST working under Prof. Kim YeongDae. Wang Hua

Wang Hua was born in Sichuan Province, China. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2007 and since September 2007 has been studying for a Masters Degree in mechanical engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] in Daejeon, Korea. His primary research interests include internal combustion engines, and alternative fuel for automotive engines. He is also actively involved in the development of hybrid electric vehicles. Lee Kiwon

Kiwon Lee is Ph.D. student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] . He received his Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from KAIST in 2007. He won a Motorola Fellowship Award as the author of the best student paper at the Electronic Components and Technology Conference, in Reno, Nevada in the USA in 2007, and won another 'Best Student Paper' Award at the International Conference on Electronic Materials and Packaging in Daejeon, Korea in 2007. His research focuses on the development of ultrasonic bonding processes using anisotropic conductive films (ACFs) for electronic devices. Yun Ho-Gyeong

Ho-Gyeong Yun received the a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1998 and a Masters Degree in 2000 both in Materials Science and Engineering from Korea University in Seoul. In 2007, he joined the Optical Materials & Coating Laboratory in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at KAIST as a Ph. D candidate. In 2000, he developed a Plasma Display Panel (PDP) using Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic on the Metal (LTCC-M) process for LG Electronics as a research engineer. He has been a Senior Research Engineer at the Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute (ETRI) since 2000, where he designed high-speed optical communication modules over 40 GHz with electromagnetic field simulation and measurement. Currently, his research area includes Dye Sensitized Solar Cells, which is an 3rd generation thin film photovoltaic system. yunhg@etri.re.kr

Yoon Kihyun

Yoon Kihyun received a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio and Wave Engineering at Kwangwoon University, Seoul, Korea, in 2008. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Korea Advanced institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], in Daejeon, Korea. He has been working on crosstalk in 3D stacked IC using Through Silicon Via over gigahertz. His current research interest is to analyze crosstalk and to design novel TSV structure immune to coupling effect in high-speed system. Son Howon

Son Howon graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in industrial design from the Korean Advanced Institute of Science & technology in 2008 and is currently at the IDIM Design Laboratory as a Master's student in the same institution. He special interest has been in the area of 'design for sustainability' and he received the 'Best Paper' award in the KAIST Undergraduate Research Program in 2007 with a proposal for 'sustainable system in the public space'. The area of sustainable design was also the focus of his work as an exchange student at the UTT in France in 2006. Since 2008, he has been working on related ethical design. Among the projects he is currently involved in for example are the development of outdoor furniture for crime prevention. Park Sung-jong

Park Sung-jong, graduated from the Department of Industrial Design at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] in 2007 and is currently a graduate student in the same Department. Working in the ID+IM (I Design therefore I Am) Design Laboratory, he a special particular interest in product design. He has successfully completed many product design projects since September 2007 and his lab has won many prizes international design competitions including a number of IDEA's (International Design Excellence Awards) and an IF product Design Award. Park Jongmin

Jong-Min Park, born in 1983, has Bachelor and Masters Degrees in industrial design from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology KAIST]. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Design Management Lab of KAIST under Industrial Design Department. He has a special interest in the area of design promotion, especially in national design promotion policies and strategies.
