Son Howon graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in industrial design from the Korean Advanced Institute of Science & technology in 2008 and is currently at the IDIM Design Laboratory as a Master's student in the same institution. He special interest has been in the area of 'design for sustainability' and he received the 'Best Paper' award in the KAIST Undergraduate Research Program in 2007 with a proposal for 'sustainable system in the public space'. The area of sustainable design was also the focus of his work as an exchange student at the UTT in France in 2006. Since 2008, he has been working on related ethical design. Among the projects he is currently involved in for example are the development of outdoor furniture for crime prevention.
