Maeng Seungwoo
*
Seungwoo Maeng graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial & Information Design and a Master’s Degree in Culture-Media Design from Handong Global University, Pohang, Korea. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Human Centered Interaction Design [HCIDL] Laboratory in the Department of Industrial Design at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST], Deajeon, Korea. His research interest is user experience in real user’s context and emotion. During his Master’s course, he was part of numerous projects as a project manager and researcher with companies like Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and the Korean Ministry of Information and Communication. In his PhD course, he has published a journal paper about product emotion and usability as a participant of the International Symposium for Emotion and Sensibility. maengoon@kaist.ac.kr

Lee Yongki
*
Yong-Ki Lee was born in Germany in 1977 and is presently is Ph.D. Candidate in the Human-Centered Interaction Design Lab within the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea. Having a diverse background of undergraduate studies in architecture & urban planning as well as a professional training in communication design, he graduated in 2007 from Köln International School of Design (KISD) in Germany. In his studies he focused on the Theory of Design Development and on applying ethnographic methods to design research. Lee Sangrok

Lee SangRok received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Engineering from Chungnam National University, Deajeon, Korea in 2008 and he is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from KAIST [the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology], Deajeon. He has been working on metal to metal crosstalk analysis on 3D-ICs using TSV over gigahertz. His current research interest is on inductor to clk tree coupling analysis & modeling in high-speed mixed-mode system, using quasi-coaxial structure and shielding films for noise isolation between mixed-mode chips in 3D-ICs. His research includes electromagnetic compatibility and interference (EMC/EMI).

Lee Hyeokseong
*
Lee Hyeok-Seong received a Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering at the Korea Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] in 2008. While he was an undergraduate student, he interned at Samsung SDS and delivered a conference paper for the Asian Network for Quality as a second author. He is currently undertaking a Master’s Degree course in the Knowledge Based System Laboratory in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at KAIST. He is interested in data mining, the energy and environment field (including renewable energy, the future city and the transportation problems) and the industrial flows. Lee Dong-Oh
*
Lee Dong-Oh has a Bachelor's Degree in industrial design from James Madison University and a Master of Science in product design from the Hong Ik International Design School for Advanced Students. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Design Management Laboratory of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Tehnology [KAIST] within the Industrial Design Department. He has special interests in various areas including fine art, product design, commercial design and design management. He interned at MTV Korea as a designer with the air promotion team and during his Master’s course was a part of numerous projects as a team manager and designer with companies like Hanlux, LG, and Callaway. He took a significant role in Callaway’s new golf bag series which will be launched in 2009. Kim Sehyun

Sehyun Kim received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea, in 2008. He was born in Gwang-Ju, Korea. In 2006, he was chosen to by the exchange student program to study at the Université de Technologie de Troyes [UTT] in France, for one year. He has special interest in the area of quantized scale. He is currently a Masters student of Department of Physics at KAIST where he is studying and studies solid state physics in the Supercomputing Laboratory for Nanomaterials. Kim Ryoung

Kim Ryoung gained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design in 2007 and is currently a graduate student in the Industrial Design Department at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon and researcher in the Product & Environment System Design Research Laboratory at KAIST. She has a special interest in robot design and has successfully completed many HRI [Human-Robot Interaction] and design related projects since March 2007. Gaining a number of prizes in robot competitions including the International Robot Design Competition 'Ro-Man 2007' and the 3rd ACM (Association for Computing Machinery)/IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction, she has also taken prizes in other competitions including the Gold Medal in the Wireless Technology Idea Contest. Kim Minjoong

Kim Min Joong is a graduate student in the Industrial Design Department at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] and a researcher in the Product & Environment System Design Research Laboratory of the same institute. He gained a Bachelor’s Degree from Yonsei University in 2007 with a major in Architectural Engineering and a minor in Human Focused Environmental Design. He has working experience for the MOTO Design and MI Design companies as an intern and a designer in 2006 and 2008. He won the IF Design Award in 2008 with an hydraulic breaker for Susan Industry and the 2nd prize in the Student Design Competition in the ACMIEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction in Amsterdam in 2008. He also won the 3rd prize at the Korean Intellectual Property Office Design Competition in 2006. He has involved a U-space design project sponsored by KIUSS because of his interest in both the architecture and design fields. Kim Joohee received a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea, in 2009, where she is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She has been working on the signal integrity design of high-speed digital system over gigahertz. Her current research interest is to analyze the electrical characteristics of Through Signal Vias (TSVs) in 3-D Integrated Circuits (ICs) and to suggest an analytic model of TSVs in order to estimate signal integrity with the equivalent circuit in high-speed digital system. Kim Jaewook graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] , Daejoen, Korea, in 2005, where he is currently a candidate for a Master’s Degree and a researcher in the Product and Environment System Design Research Laboratory. Specially interested in robot design, he had a conference paper published on new robot system for emotion expression in 2008. Ahn Woojin received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Techology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea, in 2007, where he is currently pursuing on a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Kim Hyungjun was born September 6, 1987, in Daegu, Korea. In 2003, he entered Daegu Science High School, and graduated from it after 2 years. He entered the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] in 2005 where he majored in chemistry with a special focus on quantum and computational chemistry. He graduated with a major in chemistry from KAIST in 2008. He is currently a Masters student at KAIST, majoring in quantum & computational chemistry. Kim Young-Kwan was born in Chung-Ju in 1985 and received his Bachelor's Degree from the Polymer Science & Engineering Department at Chung-Ju National University in 2008. Since 2008 he has been working in the field of applied chemistry under the supervision of Professor Min Dal-Hee. He currently has a position in Natural Science Building where his research interests are focusing on the synthesis, surface modification, and, biological applications of nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes, graphemes, porous gold nanoparticles, rods and films. Tran Thanh Tam

Tran Thanh Tam was born and grew up in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She studied in Le Hong Phong Highschool for the gifted and then continued to study at the Ho Chi Minh University of Technology. She received a Bachelors Degree from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology in 2007 after which she moved to the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] as a Masters student in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She currently works in the Metabolic and Biomolecular Engineering Laboratory of Professor Sang Yup Lee. So Soonyng is a graduate student in the Department of Chemical and B. iomolecular Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea and belongs to the Polymer Engineering Laboratory. He received a a B.Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea in 2007 where he won an honors prize and six scholarships. His undergraduate thesis research focused on the electrode of the dye-sensitized solar cell. Ryu Jungki

Ryu Jungki was born in 1981 and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at KAIST. He got his Bachelor’s Degree in 2006 from Yonsei University and his Master’s Degree in 2007 from KAIST, both in Materials Science and Engineering. During his Master’s course - due to its interdisciplinary nature - he studied the self-assembly of peptides into nanostructures both at the Advanced Biomaterials Laboratory [ABL] within KAIST and the BioNanotechnology Research Center within the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology [KRIBB]. He is now pursuing a Ph.D. Degree under supervision of Prof. Chan Beum Park within the ABL. Qaiser Nadeem

Nadeem Qaiser, a mechanical engineering student at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science & Technology was born in the city of Punjab in Pakistan. He completed 3 years Associate Diploma in mechanical at the Swedish Pakistani Institute of Technology Gujrat, in 2000 and some industrial experience, joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, Pakistan, in 2003. He received his Bachelor’s Degree with honors at the end of 2006. In 2007, he was selected by the Government of Pakistan in undertake Masters studies and entered KAIST as a Masters of Science student .His primary research interests are in sheet metal (forming process) by Lasers, called “Laser Forming”.
