Kim Ju Whan
*
Kim Ju Whan was born in Young-Dong, Chung-Book Province, South Korea in 1984. He graduated from Chung-Book Science High School, Chung-Ju in 2002 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Department of Industrial Design at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, in 2006. His graduation work was a media embedded furniture to service emotional connection for families living apart. He is currently an M.Sc. candidate in the same institute the under supervision of Professor Nam Tek Jin in the Collaboration and Interaction Design Research Laboratory. His academic concern is primarily focused on new media/technology to facilitate instinctive and efficient interaction between humans and computers. westyle@kaist.ac.kr
Li Hui

Li Hui received her Bachelor’s Degree from Shangdong University, Jinan, China. She is currently a Master's student at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] in Daejeon, Korea where she is working at the Display Materials Laboratory, in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Jeong Bongjoo

Jeong Bongjoo was born in Chungju in 1982 and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea. He received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Pusan National University, in Busan, Korea and during the studied optimizing the operation sequence of transfer tasks for a rail crane in a container port. He was involved in several other projects related to container ports because Busan is the biggest port city in Korea. In order to study scheduling problems in the other fields, he came to his current position in 2008. Jia Xu

Jia Xia received a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design from Tsinghua University, China in 2008. He is now pursuing his Master of Science in the Industrial Design Department at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea. A researcher in the Human-Centered Interaction Design Lab in the same Department, he won the 1st prize in Lenovo 'Future Office PC Competition' in 2007 and got in the final 8 of Simons Navigation UI Competition. He has also participated in many national and international design and research activities. He worked at Li-Ning Sports Wares Corporation in 2007, was an intern researcher for the China Color & Fashion Association in 2006 and and intern designer at LG Electronics China in 2007. xuujia@gmail.com

Wang Hua

Wang Hua was born in Sichuan Province, China. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2007 and since September 2007 has been studying for a Masters Degree in mechanical engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] in Daejeon, Korea. His primary research interests include internal combustion engines, and alternative fuel for automotive engines. He is also actively involved in the development of hybrid electric vehicles. Yun Ho-Gyeong

Ho-Gyeong Yun received the a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1998 and a Masters Degree in 2000 both in Materials Science and Engineering from Korea University in Seoul. In 2007, he joined the Optical Materials & Coating Laboratory in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at KAIST as a Ph. D candidate. In 2000, he developed a Plasma Display Panel (PDP) using Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic on the Metal (LTCC-M) process for LG Electronics as a research engineer. He has been a Senior Research Engineer at the Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute (ETRI) since 2000, where he designed high-speed optical communication modules over 40 GHz with electromagnetic field simulation and measurement. Currently, his research area includes Dye Sensitized Solar Cells, which is an 3rd generation thin film photovoltaic system. yunhg@etri.re.kr
Yoon Kihyun

Yoon Kihyun received a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio and Wave Engineering at Kwangwoon University, Seoul, Korea, in 2008. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Korea Advanced institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], in Daejeon, Korea. He has been working on crosstalk in 3D stacked IC using Through Silicon Via over gigahertz. His current research interest is to analyze crosstalk and to design novel TSV structure immune to coupling effect in high-speed system. Son Howon

Son Howon graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in industrial design from the Korean Advanced Institute of Science & technology in 2008 and is currently at the IDIM Design Laboratory as a Master's student in the same institution. He special interest has been in the area of 'design for sustainability' and he received the 'Best Paper' award in the KAIST Undergraduate Research Program in 2007 with a proposal for 'sustainable system in the public space'. The area of sustainable design was also the focus of his work as an exchange student at the UTT in France in 2006. Since 2008, he has been working on related ethical design. Among the projects he is currently involved in for example are the development of outdoor furniture for crime prevention. Park Sung-jong

Park Sung-jong, graduated from the Department of Industrial Design at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] in 2007 and is currently a graduate student in the same Department. Working in the ID+IM (I Design therefore I Am) Design Laboratory, he a special particular interest in product design. He has successfully completed many product design projects since September 2007 and his lab has won many prizes international design competitions including a number of IDEA's (International Design Excellence Awards) and an IF product Design Award. Lee Yongki

Yong-Ki Lee was born in Germany in 1977 and is presently is Ph.D. Candidate in the Human-Centered Interaction Design Lab within the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea. Having a diverse background of undergraduate studies in architecture & urban planning as well as a professional training in communication design, he graduated in 2007 from Köln International School of Design (KISD) in Germany. In his studies he focused on the Theory of Design Development and on applying ethnographic methods to design research. Lee Dong-Oh

Lee Dong-Oh has a Bachelor's Degree in industrial design from James Madison University and a Master of Science in product design from the Hong Ik International Design School for Advanced Students. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Design Management Laboratory of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Tehnology [KAIST] within the Industrial Design Department. He has special interests in various areas including fine art, product design, commercial design and design management. He interned at MTV Korea as a designer with the air promotion team and during his Master’s course was a part of numerous projects as a team manager and designer with companies like Hanlux, LG, and Callaway. He took a significant role in Callaway’s new golf bag series which will be launched in 2009. Kim Sehyun

Sehyun Kim received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea, in 2008. He was born in Gwang-Ju, Korea. In 2006, he was chosen to by the exchange student program to study at the Université de Technologie de Troyes [UTT] in France, for one year. He has special interest in the area of quantized scale. He is currently a Masters student of Department of Physics at KAIST where he is studying and studies solid state physics in the Supercomputing Laboratory for Nanomaterials. Kim Ryoung

Kim Ryoung gained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design in 2007 and is currently a graduate student in the Industrial Design Department at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST], Daejeon and researcher in the Product & Environment System Design Research Laboratory at KAIST. She has a special interest in robot design and has successfully completed many HRI [Human-Robot Interaction] and design related projects since March 2007. Gaining a number of prizes in robot competitions including the International Robot Design Competition 'Ro-Man 2007' and the 3rd ACM (Association for Computing Machinery)/IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction, she has also taken prizes in other competitions including the Gold Medal in the Wireless Technology Idea Contest. Kim Jinyoung is a M.Sc. candidate at the Graduate School of Culture Technology at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology [KAIST] in Daejeon Korea.. She received a double Bachelor's B.A. Degree in Korean Language and Literature & Information

She is currently working on a paper on the tour-related services that help lessen the pressure on travelers' information seeking procedures. She has also been participating in a number of other projects including the 'Festival of Culture Technology'. She worked as an webzine editor of SNULife while at SNU, and is a member of the 'YCT (Young Investigators' Forum) 2008 Committee' at KAIST. Kim Jaewook

Kim Jaewook graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology [KAIST] , Daejoen, Korea, in 2005, where he is currently a candidate for a Master’s Degree and a researcher in the Product and Environment System Design Research Laboratory. Specially interested in robot design, he had a conference paper published on new robot system for emotion expression in 2008. He has worked on developing the appearance and interaction of robots with NiCT [the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology] researchers, Japan, in 2008 and also participated in the Robot Identity for Tomorrow City Project in 2008. Ahn Woojin

Ahn Woojin received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Techology [KAIST], Daejeon, Korea, in 2007, where he is currently pursuing on a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He has been working on 'signal' and 'power' integrity design of high-speed system over gigahertz. His current research interest is to analyze noise susceptibility and to design a power distribution network on IC circuits in high-speed system.
